Genital Warts Treatment Options

Genital Warts or "HPV" is one of the most common STD's worldwide. Wartrol provides natural and safe homeopathic relief and is registered with the FDA.

There are many illnesses and diseases that you can probably name and almost all of them have possible cures or medications. One common disease is genital warts.

What are genital warts? By definition, genital warts are venereal warts or condylomata acuminata. This is a sign that you have HPV or human papilloma virus. Warts are generally known as benign tumors found on the epidermis.

In most women, genital warts can occur in the vagina's inside/outside, on the cervix to the womb, and around your anus. Genital warts are not that common among men but in some cases, the genital warts can be found on the tips of their penis, the shaft, the scrotum, and around the anus. If a person had oral sex with an infected individual, genital warts can also develop inside the mouth. Genital warts can be found in clusters. They are very tiny and can easily spread in large masses on the anal and genital area.

Some people don't give appropriate treatments to the genital warts. There are some cases when the warts eventually disappear but you can also find some people who eventually develop cauliflower-like fleshy appearance.

The warts are contagious and if you have sex (whether genital, anal, or oral) with someone that is infected with the disease, you can develop warts too. In fact, about two-thirds of individuals develop warts in this manner.

Only a health care specialist or doctor can diagnose if a person has genital warts. Women who have genital warts should be further examined for cervix infections. This can be done through a pap smear.

Genital warts can be treated. There are actually several ways to treat genital warts depending on the location and size. The doctor will offer you the different treatment options available for patients like you.

The virus has no specific cure but genital warts can be treated at a clinic or even at home. Topical medications are the most common treatment option for those that have genital warts. The topical treatment may either be in cream or gel form. This breaks down and attacks the wart tissues. Doctors often administer the use of Podophyllin in their clinic because the medication is quite strong. But since this is a very old treatment, not many doctors use them these days.

Doctors can prescribe home treatments like podofilox and imiquimod. You can apply them at home without the help of the doctor. Pregnant women should first consult their doctor because these topical medications can be absorbed by the skin and cause birth defects if used. If the warts are found externally, the doctor can prescribe aldara.

Regular warts are different from genital warts. Genital warts only appear on the body's sensitive parts and regular wart medications can't be used to treat them.

Once you're diagnosed with genital warts, make sure that you only use the prescribed medications of your doctor. This way, you're sure that your condition will not get worse. It is important to know that if the warts can't be removed by the use topical solutions, doctors now use cryosurgery, trichloracetic acid, and electrocautery.

If you think that you have genital warts, don't hesitate to consult a doctor and get the appropriate treatment for you. Don't wait until the warts spread because you can also be greatly affected by it.
